Delete your account

Swamy Saranam is a free devotional service for Ayyappa devotees. You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it at any time. This page explains how.

Delete from the app

1. Open the Swamy Saranam app on Android or iPhone and sign in.
2. Open your Profile (tap your photo or name).
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Read the note and tap Yes, delete my account to confirm.

You will see a message that your request was received. You can sign out after that.

Delete without the app

If you no longer have the app, email us from any address or call us. Tell us the mobile number you used to sign in. We will confirm it is your number by sending a one-time code before we delete anything.

What we delete

• Your name, profile photo, city, location, gender, gotra, nakshatra, rashi and bio.
• Your posts, reels, stories, comments and chat messages.
• Your followers and the people you follow.
• Your notifications and the device token used to send them.

Your sign-in phone number is replaced with a placeholder so it can no longer be linked to you.

What we keep, and for how long

• We complete every request within 30 days.
• A short record that the account was deleted (an internal number and the date) is kept so the account cannot be misused. It holds no personal details.
• Reports you made about other posts may be kept for up to 90 days for safety review, without your name.
• Server backups are overwritten within 30 days.
